Powered by Intel Xeon processors and leveraging up to four ProLiant cartridges, the EL4000 provides maximum compute and analysis ability at the edge to handle even the most extreme workloads.
Do you have data being produced at the edge, but rely on your data center for analytics? The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System is one of the first entrants into the industry’s new product category, “Converged (Internet of Things) IoT Systems”. This system integrates unprecedented edge compute, data capture and control, datacenter-class security, device and systems management, as well as large storage capacity to provide heavy-duty analytics and insights to the edge.
This enables businesses to make real-time decisions and add value to their operational processes to result in better business outcomes. The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System also prevents cloud lock-in by not having to send data back to the cloud or data center.
It addresses latency, bandwidth, cost, security, duplication, corruption, and compliance issues, enabling three critical components of savings and success—time, money, and time to action.
What's new
Combined deep compute and data capture
Real-time analytics/decision-making
Immediate insights/agility
Security and control at the edge
Ruggedized for harsh environments
Compact size, energy efficient
Features
Delivers Unprecedented Edge Analytics
The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System delivers a high performance and reliable solution that comes optimally configured with four Intel-based HPE ProLiant m510 (8 or 16 core) or HPE ProLiant m710x (4 core plus GPU) high density servers.
With the use of either the ProLiant m510 or ProLiant m710x servers, this on-premise system delivers datacenter-level insights directly at the edge to enable real-time decision-making.
By moving the compute power directly to the edge (on-site), latency and bandwidth issues, excess costs, security threats, data duplication, data corruption, and compliance and connectivity issues are all virtually eliminated. This also helps avoid cloud lock-in.
Open industry standard PCIe and industrial PXI data capture and control technologies are integrated to deliver efficient data capture and control.
Delivers Unique Integration of Data Capture and Control
The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System delivers ample expandability by including 4x 8 PCIe cards per server or four assignable PXI-E slots, onboard server storage of up to 4x 4 TB, and two 10 Gb network ports, enabling a host of connectivity options.
With open PXI standards, precision data capture and control enables deep data ingest for faster insights and business agility.
HPE Vertica algorithms used in conjunction with the Edgeline EL4000, deliver a broad range of deep IoT analytics.
Delivers Datacenter-class Security, Device and Systems Management
The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System are managed with HPE world-class systems management tool, HPE iLO (Integrated Lights-Out), the same tool used to manage traditional datacenter servers. The single iLO management port enables you to deploy, monitor and support your server remotely.
Aruba ClearPass enables custom profiles to be created in order to identify and secure IoT devices. Through real-time interaction with third party security solutions, ClearPass offers automated threat protection and recovery for devices that represent risk, with minimal hands-on IT interaction.
Modular, integrated design enables easy subsystem replacements and upgrades.
Engineered for Harsh Edge Environments
The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Converged IoT System is engineered to reside where the data is created, often in in harsh, space-constrained, and challenging environments. This compact, ruggedized system is designed to withstand increased shock and vibration, as well as broad temperature ranges.
A wide range of wall, rack, or shelf mounting options open up a multitude of placement possibilities, when floor space options are limited.
Delivers ample expandability by including a wide range of power supplies from AC to -48v DC.
